Loren Mountain Trout2024-08-16The low down… according to the media, yet I suspect there is an underlying drama. This place was/is awesome! Maybe it will get sorted out and be back in action soon. (hopeful) also I understand that local laws need to be followed always.
From various news articles…
PARQ Ubud, a prominent residential and lifestyle complex in Bali often referred to as the “Russian Village,” has been permanently closed by the Gianyar Regency Government as of January 20, 2025. The closure was due to multiple violations, including operating without essential permits such as the Building Approval (PBG) and Certificate of Proper Function (SLF), and unauthorized construction on protected agricultural land designated for rice paddies and sustainable food production.
The founder and director of PARQ Ubud, German national Andrej Frey, was arrested on January 24, 2025, for illegally converting agricultural land for commercial use without proper authorization. Authorities reported that approximately 1.8 hectares of the complex were built on protected land, leading to significant loss of productive farmland in the Gianyar region.
This action reflects a broader initiative by Balinese authorities to enforce regulations and curb unauthorized developments, particularly those involving foreign investments that do not comply with local laws.
C M2025-04-26Wow …
I have never thought I’d be in favor of anything contemporary or too futuristic but this place was amazing. It blends the old and the new, the quirky & the norms, the street and the old world elegance in a tasteful manner. This is where plug and play seemingly any artwork and they all work together well. Well curated and totally interesting.
The best coliving and coworking place I have visited in Bali so far. They have plenty FB outlets, entertainment, and recreational outlets in addition to the working, meeting, convention, media areas.
The food and the drinks were surprisingly good.
The service was prompt.
The ambiance was just awesome.
Highly recommended to spend a few days or spend the day treating yourself from with good food, spa, sauna, pool in Ubud.
Youmna Hammoud2024-10-18It felt like stepping into a completely different city, distinct from the usual Ubud vibe!
I spent the day exploring the coworking space, restaurants, and shops here. While the shops are stylish, the items are clearly overpriced as if you’re paying for the experience, not the goods.
The design of the coworking and restos overall is beautiful, but it isn’t the most comfortable for a long day stay.
I didn’t use the pool but seemed to be nice and chill.
The concept is unique, and I’d consider spending a night here next time. The staff was fine, but nothing remarkable.
Overall, a cool spot to visit for a change of scenery in Ubud.
Richard Gill2024-11-24Hmm…. This one left me feeling slightly odd. It’s a facility/residence by Russians, for Russians. Not very authentic Bali, in my opinion. While the pool and recovery area is impressive, it’s lacking that Bali charm. I visited the gym and recovery area once. Everything (gym, spa, shops) is very much overpriced, but I suppose they are capitalising on the limited options in Ubud.
Mpokgaga E.2025-01-13The place was pretty huge, because they're not only offer you to dine-in, but also a loft with lots of facilities such as; swimming pool, kids playground, fitness gym, and sauna.
When I went there, it was a brunch time, not so many people on the restaurant. They also have some kind of art gallery, fashion store (most of it sell yoga's attire).
Food was okay, coffee was okay.
arjuna thilo2025-06-26A place hard to believe until you see it. Parq is a little city embedded in the rice fields of Ubud. I tried the sauna and a pizza in one of the restaurants, both were excellent.
Even if you don't need anything this place is extremely worthwhile to visit, it's tastefully designed and there's art everywhere.
Vladimir Ulyanov2024-11-17Cool and aesthetically pleasing place to live, leisure and work! Lots of nice cafes with delicious food. 2 huge infinity pools on site, liked the gym, the common area with the whale - you can work quietly there. The project left a very good impression!
Soo Chung2025-02-01A lovely space for everything cultural and social.
I visited for a live music night then came back for shopping, tea, dinner, and protein shake.
Thank you for creating all-in-one place that's also awesome to take pictures 😃
